The i-Type format was developed by Impossible Project (now Polaroid Originals). It is basically based on Polaroid’s 600 format. The form factor and sensitivity are the same, also both come in one cassette. However, with the i-Type format, there is no battery in the film pack. This makes this format a bit cheaper and more environmentally friendly. Because of this limitation, it can only be used in the new Polaroid Originals cameras. In these, like the One Step 2, the battery is integrated into the camera itself.
