Halina Vision XAF

  • Manufacturer Halina
  • Type Snapshot camera
  • Type of Film 35mm
  • Focal Length 35 mm
  • Max Aperture -
  • Focus Automatic

The Halina Vision XAF is a handy camera, perfect for spontaneous shots. It is produced by the company Haking. A identical version was sold as Exakta AF-100. A variant of this camera with a fixed focus is the Halina Vision XM.

Your fixed lens on a 35mm camera has a focal length of 35mm as specified by the manufacturer. An autofocus system ensures the right distance on this model. A practical sliding door protects the lens from external damage.

The camera is equipped with an integrated exposure meter. Aperture and exposure time are adjusted automatically by the camera, making manual adjustments superfluous.

Of course, there is also an integrated flash, which can be activated using a slider.

The camera requires two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*) to operate. It is advisable to use rechargeable batteries.

Films for the Halina Vision XAF

According to the manual, the Halina Vision XAF requires 35mm film. Such films are still available from various brands and can be processed.

Some of the films still available today for the Halina Vision XAF are the Kodak Portra 400* for color shots and the Kodak T-Max 400* for monochrome images. Of course there are also offers from other producers such as Lomography, Fujifilm, Rollei, Ilford or Foma.

The color film is commonly processed using the C-41 process, a service many photo labs and drugstores offer.

The negatives of the Halina Vision XAF measure 24mm x 36mm. Thanks to a motorized film transport, the film is advanced after each shot. A counter on the top of the camera shows the number of pictures already taken.

At the end of the film, it is automatically rewound back into the cartridge. After that, it can be taken out and brought to development. Under no circumstances should the back be opened before the film has been completely rewound. Otherwise, the film may be damaged and the pictures taken may be lost.

Although no longer in production, the value of this camera depends heavily on its condition and functionality. It's not particularly expensive.
