The Halina Vision C XAS is a compact snapshot camera from Haking in Hong Kong.
The fixed lens of this 35mm camera does not reveal the exact focal length, but it should vary between 28mm and 35mm. With this device, an autofocus system guarantees the optimum distance setting, while a sliding cover protects the lens from external damage.
With its integrated exposure meter, the Halina Vision C XAS automatically recognizes the film sensitivity through the encoding of the film cartridge. The technology of the camera automatically adjusts the aperture and exposure time, which eliminates the need for manual intervention.
There is of course an internal flash and it has a red-eye reduction mode. This flash can be activated via a slider.
The camera uses one CR123A battery (eBay / Amazon*) to operate. Of course, you can also opt for rechargeable variants.
Films for the Halina Vision C XAS
According to their manual, the Halina Vision C XAS requires 35mm film. These films are still available from different producers and can also still be developed.
Possible film types for the point-and-shoot camera that are currently available include the Kodak Ultramax 400* for color recording and the Ilford Delta 100* for monochrome images. There are of course other renowned manufacturers such as Lomography, Fujifilm, Rollei, Adox and Foma.
Color films are processed using the C-41 process. Many photo labs and drugstores offer this development service.
The negatives of the Halina Vision C XAS measure 24 mm x 36 mm. The camera has an automatic film transport that is activated after each snapshot. A counter on the top shows the number of pictures taken.
Once the film is fully exposed, it is automatically wound back into the cartridge. Then it can be sent for development. You should always be careful not to open the housing before rewinding to prevent overexposure and thus ruining the film.
