Halina Vision Prestige

  • Manufacturer Halina
  • Type Snapshot camera
  • Type of Film 35mm
  • Max Aperture -
  • Focus Fixed focus

The Halina Vision Prestige is a cheap 35mm camera, ideal for spontaneous photos. It is a product of the company Haking, which is based in Hong Kong. The production country is Hong Kong.

Your 35 mm lens is permanently installed. Although the exact focal length isn't given, it could be in the range of 28mm to 35mm. There is no auto focus. The focus is fixed (Focus Free). A sliding door protects the lens from potential damage and contamination.

The Halina Vision Prestige is equipped with a built-in exposure meter. This automatically recognizes the film sensitivity through the film cartridge (DX). As a result, both the aperture and the exposure time are regulated by the camera itself, eliminating the need for manual adjustment.

Of course, the model is equipped with an internal flash. However, a specific mode for reducing "red-eye" is missing in this example. A tripod thread and a self-timer function are also missing. However, there is an option to attach a wrist strap for more convenient handling.

Power is supplied by two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*), although using rechargeable batteries is a sensible choice.

Film selection for the Halina Vision Prestige

According to the user manual, the Halina Vision Prestige works with 35mm film, which is still available from various providers and can be developed.

Recommended films for this compact camera include Kodak Ultramax 400* for colorful shots and Ilford Delta 100* for black and white-pictures. In addition, other brands such as Lomography, Fujifilm, Rollei, Adox and Foma also offer compatible films.

The Halina Vision Prestige negatives measure 24 mm x 36 mm. A motorized mechanism ensures automatic film advance after each exposure, with a counter on top showing the number of exposures already taken. A window on the back allows a view of the inserted film.

When the end of the film is reached, it is automatically rewound. It is advisable not to open the camera until the film is fully rewound in order to remove and develop the film. If the film has not yet been rewound, avoid opening the camera to prevent exposure and damage to the film.
