The Halina Vision 500 is a compact entry-level camera for analog photography. It does not offer many setting options and is therefore well suited for beginners. It was produced by the Haking company in Hong Kong.

Camera features

The fixed 35mm lens offers a putative focal length of between 28mm and 35mm, although exact details are not available. The integrated autofocus system ensures automatic sharpness adjustments, while a sliding cover protects the lens from possible damage and dirt.

Inside the Halina Vision 500 you'll find an embedded exposure meter that automatically identifies the sensitivity of the film loaded, allowing aperture and exposure time adjustments to take place automatically and without manual intervention.

Although there is no dedicated "red-eye" reduction mode and there is also a lack of a tripod socket and a self-timer, you can attach a hand strap to the camera for better handling.

However, this model does have a built-in flash. This can also be used as fill flash.

The camera requires two AA batteries (eBay / Amazon*) for power supply, although using rechargeable batteries is a worthwhile choice.

Film options for the Halina Vision 500

According to the user manual, the Halina Vision 500 accepts 35mm film, which can still be obtained and processed from various manufacturers.

Films such as Kodak Ultramax 400* for color photography and Ilford Delta 100* for black and white photography are recommended for this camera. In addition, manufacturers such as Lomography, Fujifilm, Rollei, Adox and Foma also offer suitable films.

Most photo laboratories offer the development of these films, whereby in addition to prints, the digitization of the negatives for use as a digital file is an option.

The negatives of the Halina Vision 500 have a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. An automatic system advances the film after each shot, while a counter on the surface shows the number of frames already taken.

After reaching the end of the film, it is automatically rewound. Only after this process should you open the camera to take out the film and have it developed. Otherwise the film could be damaged by light entering.
