The Washi D 500 is a black and white film. It is panchromatically sensitized and was actually developed for aerial photography.
Washi, or rather the French supplier, does not manufacture the film itself, of course. Washi D 500 is nicknamed “Sputnik” because the material was actually intended for the Russian military.
It is cast on a very thin polyester base. The sensitivity is specified between ISO 500 and ISO 2000, depending on the development.
The Washi D 500 is only available as 35mm film. However, the cartridges are not DX encoded. It must be developed in a suitable black and white developer. Alternatively, it can be processed into a slide film in the Agfa Scala process.

The Washi D was exposed to ISO 400 in a Leica CL with a Minolta 40mm f/2. Developed in Rodinal at a dilution of 1+50 for 12 minutes at a temperature of 20 degrees.
