The Kosmo Foto Mono 100 is a black and white film.

It is sold by a vendor probably from the UK. However, this is only speculation. At any rate, there is no concrete information on the website at the current time. At first it was supposed to be sold under the name Zorki, the name of the former Russian camera manufacturer. This was probably not done after all for trademark reasons. Currently, January 2018, the film is sold out.

In the nicely designed box in retro look is a black and white film with a sensitivity of ISO 100. According to its own information, the film is produced by a European manufacturer. Kosmo Foto does not specify the exact manufacturer.

Harman Technology Ltd, who also produce the Ilford and Kentmere films, would be the obvious choice. More precisely, the Kentmere 100, which is already available from other suppliers under different names. But it could also be that the manufacturer for the film is Foma in the Czech Republic and that the Fomapan 100 is in the cartridge. Of course, only Kosmo Foto itself can answer what is true.

The Kosmo Foto Mono 100 is available as 35mm film for 36 frames. The film cartridge comes in a beautifully designed paper box. Since summer 2019, the film is also available for medium format cameras. It can be used in cameras such as the Pentax 645, Holga 120 N or Diana F+. One roll of 120 film usually fits 12 images (for the square 6×6 format).

The film must be developed in a suitable black and white developer, such as Rodinal. In addition to exposure to the nominal speed, it is also possible to pullen (ISO 50) or push (up to ISO 400) the film. Development in the Kodak HC 110 developer is not recommended by the manufacturer.

Development in an external photo lab is also possible. However, one should make sure that this offers the development of “real” black and white films and not only the development of color films.

Calculation of the development solution
How much development solution do you need?

When developing in a developing can, the film should be moved continuously for the first 30 seconds. After that, it should be tilted every 30 seconds for 5 seconds.
