The Rollei Pan 25 is a black and white film. It has a sensitivity of ISO 25.
The panchromatic film should be developed in a suitable black-and-white developer.
The black-and-white film, which was available for 35 mm and medium format cameras, is no longer offered today. At the time, its fine grain, high sharpness and long-term durability were among the features advertised by Rollei.
Developing Rollei Pan 25
Developing the film requires special chemicals and precise control of time, temperature and agitation.
For developing the Rollei Pan 25, the manufacturer recommends a developer such as Rodinal, Adonal or HC-110, but it is also possible to use other developers to achieve different effects. The exact development times and temperatures depend on the chemistry and dilution used and should be followed carefully to achieve optimal image quality.
After development, the film can be processed either by traditional enlargement techniques or by digitization. Scanners for home use or photo labs can be used for digitization. The choice of scanner depends on the desired image quality and the available technology. It is important to handle the film carefully and make sure it is clean and free of scratches or damage before scanning.
Digitizing
Digital processing of the Rollei Pan 25 offers a variety of options. Images can be edited and retouched to create different effects, and can then be shared in various formats on different platforms or obtained in printed form. It is important to note that digital processing can affect the original image quality and that some photographers prefer more traditional processing.
Sample photos
The photos were taken with the Olympus OM 2 and the matching 50 mm f/1.4 lens. Developed the test film in Rodinal with a dilution of 1+50 at 20 degrees for 11 minutes. Digitized the images with the Canoscan 9000F flatbed scanner (eBay / Amazon*).
