Developing the film
The development of the PAUL & REINHOLD 640 must take place in a black and white developer. Black and white film development is offered by some photo labs in Germany. You have more control if you develop the film yourself and choose the photochemistry yourself. The developed film strips can be scanned or prints can be made with an enlarger.
Recommended dilution for development in R09 is 1+25 (13:30 min) or 1+50 (23:30 min) at 20 degrees. According to the manufacturer, development in D-76 or ID-11 is also possible. Here the film must be developed for 9 min (stock) or 15:30 min (1+1).
Formats of the Rollei PAUL & REINHOLD 640
The PAUL & REINHOLD 640 is only made up in 35mm format. With one copy of the film you can take 36 photos. It is sold in cans with two rolls each. One roll is called Paul, the other Reinhold. But it is the same film stock.
Storage
For optimal long-term storage of Astrum film stock, it is strongly discouraged to store it in humid or sunny locations. Rather, a cool and dry storage location is recommended. To avoid qualitative deterioration, exposed film material should not be stored for too long and should instead be developed as soon as possible.
