The Canon EOS Rebel K2 is a 35mm camera. It was introduced by Canon in 2003 and belongs to the group of SLR cameras. The 35mm photo camera was offered under the name “Canon EOS 3000V” in Europe. Japanese buyers could buy it as “EOS Kiss Lite
The lens of the Canon EOS Rebel K2 is interchangeable. Lenses with an EF bayonet can be used with the camera. The lens is focused by autofocus.
The 35mm camera has an exposure meter. The light meter was designed for films with a sensitivity of ISO 6 to ISO 6400. The camera reads the ISO value via the DX code on the cartridge.
The exposure is measured through the lens. The exposure settings are automatically adjusted by the Canon EOS Rebel K2 if desired. If desired, the aperture and exposure time can also be selected by the photographer.
The camera comes with a bulb mode. In this mode the film is exposed as long as the shutter release button is pressed. In low light conditions the built-in flash can be used. It has a range of 12 meters at ISO 100 and is ready for use again after two seconds. A flash with hot shoe can also be used with the camera.
The camera weighs 365 grams according to the instructions. The dimensions are 13 x 8.8 x 6.4 cm. The power source of the 35mm camera are two CR2 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).
Films for the Canon EOS Rebel K2
In the Canon EOS Rebel K2 35mm films are exposed according to the instructions. The 35mm format is the most common film format. Therefore some manufacturers still produce for this format. Two great films for the 35mm camera are the Kodak Portra 400* and the AgfaPhoto APX 400*, both of which can be used to take nice color pictures or black and white pictures.
The development of the color film is done in the C-41 process. The C-41 process is offered by almost every photo lab.
The exposure area of the Canon EOS Rebel K2 has a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. The film transport is automatic. The photographer does not have to wind it further. Up to 1.5 frames per second can be achieved.
The 35mm camera can only be bought in used condition. The value of a used copy is mainly measured by its condition and functionality.
