The Canon EOS Rebel T2 is a single lens reflex camera. The 35mm camera was built by Canon and introduced in 2004. The Canon EOS Rebel T2 was also sold on the market under the names “Canon EOS 300X” and “EOS Kiss 7”.
The Canon EOS Rebel T2 comes with interchangeable lenses. Therefore an EF bayonet was installed. The Canon EF 28-90mm f/4-5.6 III is often found with the 35mm camera. Manual focusing is not necessary with the 35mm camera. The Canon EOS Rebel T2 comes with an autofocus. The basis for this are seven focus points.
The camera has a built-in light meter. It can use the exposure for films with a sensitivity from ISO 6 to ISO 6400. The camera determines the correct film speed using the DX code.
With SLR cameras, the exposure is measured through the lens. The camera uses this result for the various exposure modes. A manual mode for full control is also available.
The EOS shutter speeds range from 1/4000 second to 30 seconds. The camera also comes with a bulb mode. This allows the shutter to remain open for a variable time. For a stable stand it has a thread for a tripod.
There is a built-in flash for taking pictures when there is insufficient light. At ISO 100 the range is 13 meters. It is recharged after two seconds. An external flash can be used via the hot shoe.
The dimensions of the Canon EOS Rebel T2 are 13 x 9 x 6.4 cm according to the operating instructions. Thereby it weighs 365 grams. The power source of the 35mm camera are two CR2 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).
Films for the Canon EOS Rebel T2
The Canon EOS Rebel T2 is equipped with 35mm film according to the operating instructions. For this film format there is still a good selection of material for color and black and white pictures. A good choice for color pictures is Agfaphoto Vista 200*, but if you want to stay monochrome, Ilford Delta 400* is not bad. The negatives of the Canon EOS Rebel T2 have a size of 24 mm x 36 mm.
The SLR comes with an automatic prewind system. After positioning the film and closing the rear cover, the film automatically winds up to the end of the roll. During shooting, the film is rewound one by one into the cassette.
The Canon EOS Rebel T2 is no longer in production. The condition and scope of delivery determine the price.
