The Canon EOS 3000V is a 35mm camera. It was introduced by the Japanese company in 2003. Under the name “Canon EOS Rebel K2” the 35mm camera was offered in America. For Japanese buyers it was called “EOS Kiss Lite”.
The lenses of the Canon EOS 3000V can be exchanged. Therefore an EF bayonet was built into the camera. It has a built-in autofocus system. Often you can find the camera with the Canon Zoom Lens EF 28-90 mm 1:4-5.6 II.
The Canon EOS 3000V has an exposure meter for taking pictures. It is designed for films in a range from ISO 6 to ISO 6400. The film speed is read out via the DX code on the film cartridge.
The correct exposure is measured through the lens. The aperture and exposure time are set fully automatically from the 35 mm film if desired. There are also other exposure modes and a manual mode.
The 35 mm camera comes with a bulb setting option. A self-timer and a thread for a tripod are also included.
For pictures in low light or poor lighting conditions, a flash light is built in. This is ready for use after 2 seconds and reaches up to twelve meters at a sensitivity of ISO 100.
According to the operating instructions, the camera weighs 365 grams and measures 13 x 8.8 x 6.4 cm. Two CR2 batteries (eBay / Amazon*) provide the power supply.
Films for the Canon EOS 3000V
Which films are required for the Canon EOS 3000V? The camera is designed for 35mm films. For this film format there is still a good selection of material for color and black and white pictures. A good choice of film is Agfaphoto Vista 200* for color pictures and Ilford HP5* for black and white pictures.
The color film is a negative film and is processed in the C-41 development process. The C-41 process is carried out by almost all photographic laboratories.
The negatives of the camera have a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. The film is transported with a built-in motor. Up to 1.5 pictures are possible in the camera’s burst mode.
The model is no longer in production. The value of a used copy depends on the condition of the camera.
