The Canon EOS Rebel G is a single lens reflex camera from the 90s. The 35mm camera is a product of Canon and was sold in America. This model is the successor of the Canon EOS Rebel XS and the predecessor of the Canon EOS Rebel 2000. 35mm photo camera was also sold under the name “Canon EOS 500N” in Europe. A similar model was sold under the name “EOS New Kiss” in Japan.

The lenses of the Canon EOS Rebel G can be exchanged. It comes with an EF bayonet. The 35mm camera is equipped with an autofocus.

Taking pictures is made easier by the built-in light meter. The exposure meter is designed for 35 mm film from ISO 25 to ISO 5000. The camera reads the DX code of the film cartridge and adjusts the exposure meter accordingly. The exposure meter is designed to measure the exposure through the camera lens. The aperture and exposure time are set automatically by the camera if desired. The aperture and exposure time can also be freely set by the photographer.

A bulb mode is available for long exposures. A built-in flash is available for taking pictures in insufficient light. According to the instructions, the power of the flash reaches up to 12 meters. An external flash can be connected to the Hot Shoe. The Canon EOS Rebel G has a self-timer and a tripod thread.

With a size of 14.6 x 9.2 x 6.2 cm the Canon EOS Rebel G weighs 400 grams according to the manual. Power is supplied by two CR123A batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

Films for the Canon EOS Rebel G

The Canon EOS Rebel G uses 35mm film according to the operating instructions. This type of film is still in production and can be processed by most photo labs without any problems. One possibility for b/w pictures is Kodak TRI-X 400*, a possible film for color pictures is Kodak Ultramax 400*.

Colour negative film is developed in the C-41 development process. This development process is offered by most laboratories. For example, you can give your films to most drugstores for development.

The panorama function pushes two bars into the picture and thus creates the look of a panorama. It is more a gimmick than a real extension.
