Olympus OM-77 AF

The Olympus OM-77 AF is an SLR camera. It is identical to the Olympus OM-707 and only has a different name. They are equipped with the same range of functions.

The OM-77 AF from Olympus has an autofocus that is controlled via an integrated motor in the camera body. The focus is adjusted by a shaft on the lens. However, this requires one of the eight special AF lenses that are suitable for the camera. Other lenses can be focused manually, but cannot be used with the autofocus function. The OM bayonet has been modified to allow the autofocus function.

The camera is equipped with a light meter and offers two automatic exposure modes as well as a manual mode. Program auto sets aperture and exposure time automatically, while in aperture priority or aperture priority mode, the user selects the desired aperture and the camera calculates the appropriate exposure time. The camera is suitable for films with a sensitivity between ISO 25 and ISO 3200 and can automatically set the sensitivity of the film if it has DX encoding.

For shutter speeds, you have a choice of values from 1/1000 second to 2 seconds. A Bulb mode is available for shooting at night, where the exposure remains open as long as the shutter button is pressed. The Olympus OM-77 AF can be used with hot-shoe flashes or a PC flash socket. The camera also has a built-in self-timer and a thread for a tripod.

The body is chunky and made of black plastic, measures 14.6 x 8.9 x 5.2 cm and weighs 635 grams. For power, the camera requires four AAA batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

The negatives have a size of 24 mm x 36 mm and the film transport is automatic.
