The Kodak VISION3 500T is a color negative film. It is a film for the production of moving images and not for classic analog photography. It is used by Hollywood productions, among others.
The Kodak VISION3 500T, a color negative film for shooting under artificial light, is suitable for the production of moving images such as series and motion pictures. Unlike digital photography, where white balance can be adjusted retrospectively, the use of analog film stock requires special films for daylight and artificial light.
With a designed light temperature of 3200 Kelvin, Kodak VISION3 500T delivers true color images under tungsten light, while a shift to blue tones can be seen when shooting under daylight. To still use the film in daylight, an appropriate filter can be placed in front of the camera lens, but this results in a decrease in sensitivity and must be compensated for.
In tungsten light, the sensitivity is 500. With a filter, the sensitivity of the film stock in daylight is 320.
Development
The Kodak film is developed using a standardized development process called ECN-2, which was developed specifically for color negative film in film production and is similar to the C-41 process for photography, but with the removal of a coating (remjet) during development.
Formats
The Kodak VISION3 500T is offered exclusively by Kodak for film production and is available in formats such as Super 8, 65mm, 16mm and 35mm.
For use in conventional still cameras, the 35mm film can be loaded into 35mm cartridges, but be aware of the remjet coating, which must be removed to allow for trouble-free development in the C-41 process.
Some brands offer the film stock under their own names. Some have already had the remjet coating removed, so the film can be developed normally with other color negative films.

Storage
To preserve the quality of the film stock, optimal storage under cool and dry conditions is advisable. Prompt development is recommended, as prolonged storage of exposed film stock is not ideal.
