The Washi W 25 is a black and white film. It has orthochromatic sensitization and is cast on traditional Japanese paper (Washi).
Because the film is handmade, it is available in various formats or can theoretically be produced in any format upon request. Currently it is offered in the formats 120, 620, 4×5″, 8×10″ and as 35mm film.
When photographing with 35mm film, care should be taken, for example, it should not be wound over the specified film number, as it could tear.
The film must be developed by hand. It cannot be threaded in a film spiral because it loses its stability when it comes into contact with water. It is best to develop Washi W in a darkroom under red light by sight.
Sample photos
The Washi W sample photos were developed in Rodinal. The camera used was an Olympus OM 2 with 50 mm f/1.4.
