Revolog 460nm 120 is a color negative film. The film material is commercially available under the Revolog brand. The cost for a roll is in the range of 16 euros in April 2023. The material is not produced by Revolog itself, but by an unnamed manufacturer.
The 460nm 120 is designed for color photos. The ISO value of 200 for the film’s sensitivity is given in the data sheet. The special feature of the film is the change in color tones. It does not provide correct colors, but the images have a blue/purple or yellow/green tint. Under-exposure intensifies the color, while overexposure lowers the effect of the film.
For a long time, such effect films were only available for 35mm format. Now Revolog has a process available to achieve such effects with medium format cameras as well.
Developing the film
After taking photos, the Revolog 460nm 120 need to be processed in the C-41 development process, which is offered as a service in most photo labs. This process is standardized and can also be done for 460nm 120 film in Germany through major drugstore chains. The result of the development is film strips with the captured images.
Once the film is developed, there is the option to digitize the negatives or create photo prints in various sizes, with many developing labs offering this service directly.
Digitization
If preferred, the images can also be converted to digital form using a scanner. Although digitization of negatives is offered by photo labs, a scanner can be purchased for home use. Digitization opens up several options for using the files in print as well as on social media.
Formats of the Revolog 460nm 120
The effect film is available for medium format cameras. The number of images depends on the format you choose. As a rule, 12 images fit on one copy of the roll film.
There are several manufacturers of cameras for medium format, including Rollei, Pentax, Yashica, Lomography and many more. These cameras can be used to expose medium format film. You cannot use the film in 35mm cameras.
