The Revolog 600nm 120 is a color negative film. It is distributed by the Revolog brand from Austria. The film stock is produced by an unnamed manufacturer. As of April 2023, a roll of the film sells for around 16 euros.

The 600 nm 120 is designed for color photos. It is an effect film. The material has been pre-coated to produce a particular effect. In this case, a color tint. The images have a reddish or bluish-green tint, depending on how you expose the film, under what lighting conditions you use it, and how you digitize it.

The recommended film speed to expose the film to is ISO 200, which makes it well suited for outdoor or vacation pictures. It may not be the best choice for twilight or dark indoor images.

Developing the film

It is necessary to develop the film using the C-41 process, which is offered by many photo labs. The C-41 process is a standardized development process and can be done at home, provided the proper chemistry and supplies are available. Once the development process is complete, you have the film strips with the images.

It is possible to digitize the negatives afterwards or to create prints in different sizes. Photo labs usually also offer the option of producing prints directly.

Digitization

To digitally process the images, you can digitize the analog film strips with a scanner. There are many different devices for digitizing negatives, which differ in functions and price. Digital copies of the photos can then be further edited using Photoshop and shared on social media.

Formats

The film is only available for medium format cameras. The number of images depends on the exposure format of the camera. Medium format cameras from Mamiya, Yashica or Rollei are good cameras to use with the film. But also the Diana F+ or the Lomo LC-A 120 from Lomography are a good choice for the Revolog 600nm.

You can’t use the film in 35mm cameras, of course.

Storage

It is recommended that unexposed film stock be stored in optimal conditions to ensure the quality of subsequent photographs. For optimal storage, film stock should be stored in a dry and cool place. For exposed film material, fast development is recommended to avoid loss of quality.
