The Maco Macochrome UCR 100 is a slide film. It was developed by HANS O. MAHN GmbH & CO. KG. It was available in the early/mid 00s. Today you can’t buy the film anymore.
The Maco Macochrome UCR 100 is for making color slides. The light sensitivity of the film is specified as ISO 100.
Storage and use of expired film stock
Unexposed film stock from discontinued films has often already passed the printed expiration date. Unlike food, however, this does not necessarily mean that the film can no longer be used. One potential problem with old film material is the loss of light sensitivity. In addition to age, storage conditions also play an important role. To overcome this problem, the exposure meter can be set to a lower sensitivity. The storage conditions of the unexposed film may affect the subsequent photo quality.
It is not recommended to store the Maco Macochrome UCR 100 in a humid or sunny place. A cool, dry location is ideal for long-term storage. It is advisable to have the film developed promptly after exposure to avoid deterioration of image quality.
Development of the film
The development of the slide film is done in the E6 process. This type of development is offered by most German photo labs that offer film development. After development, the slides can be viewed by slide projector or directly.
It should be noted that the 127 format is not developed by every photo lab. Therefore, one should inquire in advance whether development is possible.
Availability and Alternatives
The Maco Macochrome UCR 100 can be used in 127 cameras. The film was only available for this format. The film stock was assembled in Efke’s factory in Croatia.
Fresh material from the film is no longer available. The production was stopped. There is no successor under the brand name Maco.
