The Lomo’Instant Automat Dahab is an instant camera. It was presented on October 25, 2017. The design of the camera from Lomography is in a copper look. In terms of functionality, it is identical to the “normal” Lomo’Instant Automat.
The name for this edition is borrowed from an Egyptian town. Dahab is located in the governorate of Janub Sina in the south of the Sinai Peninsula and is a popular place for vacationers.
The camera comes with an extensive accessory package that offers the user versatile options. In addition to the lens cap with remote release, there are colour filters that add a special touch to the flash.
Magnetic stickers and adhesive dots make it possible to creatively design the printed photos and attach them to walls or other surfaces. In addition, there are also photo frames and photo clips to present the pictures in style. Detailed instructions with useful shooting tips are also included to get the most out of the instant camera.
Films for the instant camera
The Lomo’Instant Automat Dahab requires Instax Mini films to take photos. These are produced by the Japanese Fujifilm. Films are not included with the Lomography camera.
This format is the smallest instant format on the market. The dimensions of an Instax Mini image are 8.6 x 5.4 cm. The dimensions of the captured image are 6.2 x 4.6 cm. The size is comparable to that of a business card.
The instant pictures are in a film cassette. The cassette with the pictures is placed in the camera. One cassette contains ten images. If the frame counter shows zero, the cassette must be replaced. You have to pay around 70 cents per picture.
For fans of black-and-white pictures, there is the Instax Mini Monochrome*. There are various special editions of the color film (eBay / Amazon*).
