The Impossible B&W Film for SX-70 is an instant film. It is the latest generation of film (B&W) from The Impossible Project for the SX-70 format.
The black and white film is designed for the Polaroid SX-70 format. This instant format was presented by Polaroid in the 70’s and is the predecessor of the Type 600 format. Polaroid no longer manufactures film today.
The dimensions of a picture are 8.6 x 5.4 cm. The picture surrounded by a frame is 7.9 x 7.9 cm. The sensitivity of the instant film is ISO 125. The Impossible B&W Film for SX-70 can be used in all Polaroid SX-70 cameras. It is compatible with both the foldable cameras and the plastic box cameras. It can also be used in the Revue 1001 and Berkey Keystone.
It cannot be used in the Polaroid 600 instant cameras and Joycams, among others. It also cannot be used in the Instax cameras.
The development time for a black and white image is five to ten minutes. Optimal results are obtained at an ambient temperature of 14-28 degrees. Heat and cold can have an effect on the results.
The instant images are stored in a special film cassette. The film holder is placed in the camera as a whole. After eight pictures cassette is taken on the camera. Next to the pictures there is a battery in the cassette. This supplies power to the instant camera and flash.
One pack of the film contains eight pictures. Preferably, the film should be stored in a cool, dry place.
Alternative for the film
Meanwhile, the instant film is no longer offered. The replacement is the Polaroid B&W Film for SX-70*. It is the latest black and white film for the SX-70 models from the Dutch factory.
