The Impossible B&W Film for 600 Black Frame Edition is an instant film. It is identical to the black and white film from Impossible. However, the black and white images are surrounded by a black frame in this edition.

The Impossible B&W Film for 600 Black Frame Edition is intended for the Type 600 instant format. The Type 600 format was introduced by Polaroid in 1981. It was presented as the successor of the SX-70 format. There are no more films available from Polaroid for this format.

An Impossible picture is 8.8 x 10.7 cm. The picture surrounded by a frame is 7.9 x 7.9 cm. The instant film has a sensitivity of ISO 600.

In all models of the Polaroid 600 family, the Impossible B&W Film for 600 Black Frame Edition can be exposed. The instant film can also be used with the Impossible Instant Lab and Impossible I-Type cameras. Exposure in the SX-70 models is also possible. This requires an ND filter to lower the sensitivity.

Development begins two minutes after the image is ejected. The development time is 5 to 10 minutes. Optimal results are obtained at an ambient temperature of 14-28 degrees. Heat and cold can affect the results.

The individual images are placed in a film cassette. The cassette is placed in the camera. If the frame counter shows two, the cassette must be replaced. In addition to the instant images, there is a battery in the cassette. This supplies juice to the camera and flash.

One box of instant film is enough for eight pictures. The unopened film should be stored at 5-10 degrees.

Alternative

The current black and white film for the SX-70 instant format is the Polaroid B&W Film for SX-70*. With this film, which is now also sold again under original brand, the frames are however in white.
