The Canon EOS 1000F QD-P is an SLR camera. It was built in the 90s and designed for the Japanese market. It is very similar to the EOS 1000F, but for the customers from the land of the rising sun some more features have been added.
For example, the camera has a panorama function, which changes the image size from 24 x 36 mm to 13 x 36 mm. In addition, it has a data back panel with which the date of the shot can be “saved” on the film.
The lenses of the Canon EOS 1000F QD-P are interchangeable. Lenses with an EF bayonet can be used. The camera is equipped with an autofocus.
The camera has a built-in light meter. The light meter is built for films with a sensitivity from ISO 6 to ISO 6400. The camera uses the DX code to determine the correct film speed. The light meter is built to measure the exposure through the camera lens.
The Canon EOS 1000F QD-P can automatically set the aperture and exposure time. However, both the desired exposure time and the f-number can also be set by the user. It has also has a bulb mode for long exposures. The self-timer has a lead time of 12 seconds and has different sounds.
For taking pictures in low light, there is a built-in flash, which ensures clear pictures. A hot shoe flash can also be connected.
The camera weighs 500 grams. The dimensions are 14.8 x 10 x 6.9 cm. The power supply of the 35mm camera is provided by a 6V 2CR5 battery (eBay / Amazon*). This type of battery is still available and easy to get.
Films for the Canon EOS 1000F QD-P
For the Canon EOS 1000F QD-P 35mm films are required. 35mm films are still produced today. They can be developed in most laboratories. A color film for the 35 mm camera would be Kodak Gold 200*, a possible film for black and white pictures is Ilford Delta 100*.
The color film is designed for development in the C-41 process. C-41 films are developed by almost all photo labs.
The 35mm camera is only available in used condition. Depending on condition and functionality the used price varies.
