The Canon EOS 1000F QD is a 35mm camera. It belongs to the group of SLR cameras and was built by Canon in the 90s for the Japanese market. The special feature of this model is the data back for the exposure of the current date. Apart from that, it is no different from the EOS 1000F. With the EOS 1000F QD-P there was also a version with an additional panorama function.
The lenses of the Canon EOS 1000F QD can be changed. This is made possible by the EF bayonet. The lens is focused by autofocus.
The Canon EOS 1000F QD has a built-in light meter. It is designed for films in a range from ISO 6 to ISO 6400. The camera determines the correct sensitivity of the film via the DX code. The correct exposure is measured through the lens.
The exposure settings are determined automatically by the camera. There are a number of automatic and scene modes for this purpose. Both the desired exposure time and the f-number can be set by the user.
The 35 mm camera has a bulb mode. The shutter can remain open for a variable time. The self-timer (12 seconds) can play any music instead of a beeping countdown.
The Canon EOS 1000F QD comes with a built-in flash. This has a range of twelve metres at ISO 100 and an external flash can be connected to the Hot Shoe. The fastest shutter speed when using a flash is 1/90 second.
Measuring 14.8 x 10 x 6.9 cm, the Canon EOS 1000F QD weighs 500 grams. The required power for the camera comes from a 6V 2CR5 battery (eBay / Amazon*), which you can get quite easily today.
Films for the Canon EOS 1000F QD
The Canon EOS 1000F QD is equipped with 35mm film. 35mm films are still produced today. They can be developed in most laboratories. Great color photos are possible with the Agfaphoto Vista 400*. The Ilford FP4 Plus* is an excellent choice for black and white pictures.
The color film is processed in the C-41 process. This development process is offered by most laboratories. For example, you can hand in your films at most drugstore chains in Germany.
The Canon EOS 1000F QD is no longer produced. The prices for the camera vary depending on its condition.
