Adox CHS 50

Adox CHS 50 ART PET is a black and white film. The film was produced for Adox by Fotokemika-Nova d.o.o. in Samobor, Croatia.

The Adox CHS 50 was discontinued in 2012. The reason for this was that Fotokemika had ended its production. Until then it was available for 35mm, large format and medium format cameras.

The parameters of the CHS 50 are congruent with the efke 50. It has a sensitivity of ISO 50 and must be processed in a suitable black and white developer.

A possible alternative to the Adox CHS 50 would be the Ilford Pan F Plus.

Developing the film

The CHS 50 must be developed in a developer for black and white films. It is common practice for most lab service providers to offer black and white film development, but it is also possible to do this at home. The film developer you choose can significantly change the appearance of the images.

Before developing the actual Adox film, it is advisable to develop several strips of film with photos in the same shooting conditions in different mixing ratios and try different development times if there are no specifications from the manufacturer for the combination of developer and film. The film strips with the captured images are the result of the development process. Usually, the next step is either making prints or digitizing. In most photo labs, it is common to create prints in different sizes during the development process.

In order to be able to process the images from the film strips in digital form, they should be digitized using a scanner. Photo labs often offer digitization of negatives, but you can also use a scanner for home use. After digitization, the images can be shared in various formats on different platforms or obtained in printed form.
