The Polaroid Spirit Semper Fidelis U.S. Marine Corps is an instant camera. It is identical in functionality to the Polaroid One Step Flash.
This instant camera was designed for the U.S. Navy. The plastic housing is characterized by the two colors, red and black. Above the film edition you can find the lettering “U.S. Marine Corps”. Next to the flash is the motto “Semper Fidelis” and the emblem of the branch of the United States Armed Forces.
The Polaroid Spirit Semper Fidelis U.S. Marine Corps is very comfortable to use. Most of the adjustment options found in other camera designs have been eliminated. The simplicity allows for a low barrier to entry and thus many possibilities for areas of application. The camera is the ideal choice if you want to host a wedding or a festive event. The camera also cuts a good figure on vacation.
The most important settings are preset. The free determination of aperture and exposure time by the photographer is not provided. The optics have a fixed focal length. Changing the lens is not provided for. The model does not have a zoom function. For sharp pictures, a minimum distance of 120 cm to the subject should be maintained.
Of course, this model also has a built-in flash. The flash fires automatically. Especially in low light conditions, you are often grateful for the flash.
Films for the Polaroid Spirit Semper Fidelis U.S. Marine Corps
Very important for the instant camera are the correct photo films. The original film material from the ern has not been offered for some time. Since 2010, however, there are again suitable films for the 600 format.
For cameras of the 600 format there is a color and black and white film. The Polaroid Color Film for 600* is the instant film for color photos. Black and white images can be created with the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*. They are both very fun to use.
The material in one pack is enough for eight pictures. Under no circumstances should the photosensitive material come into contact with light. The film material should be stored in the dark and dried.
One picture has a size of 10.8 x 8.8 cm. The recorded scene can be found on an area of 7.7 by 7.7 cm. The remaining area of the Polaroid picture is white. Also available are editions of Polaroid films with colorful frames.
Batteries
What kind of batteries do you need for the Polaroid Spirit Semper Fidelis U.S. Marine Corps? With this type of camera, the power source is found inside the film cassette. It feeds the camera with the necessary energy to take pictures. So changing the film is also changing the battery. An additional battery is not required for the instant camera.
If the camera with film inside has not been used for a long time, the battery may have discharged. Consequently, the camera will not work anymore. In this case, you simply need to remove the film and replace it with fresh film stock.
