In May 2024, Lomography expanded its range with the Lomo’Instant Automat Glass Ema Ichikawa Edition instant camera, a new version of the popular Lomo’Instant Automat series.
It is functionally identical to the regular Lomo’Instant Automat, but differs in its unique design.
The camera is white and has a rectangular design. The front features an illustration of fish and marine life in black, gray and a touch of orange. The illustration covers almost the entire front and is complemented by golden accents. The illustrations of the marine world are intended to represent its freedom.
The illustrations were designed by the artist Ema Ichikawa. Ema Ichikawa, a graduate of the Tohoku University of Art and Design, is characterized by her inspiring work. Inspired by the Rinpa School of Art, her work pays tribute to timeless traditional Japanese aesthetics.

Film selection for the Lomo’Instant Automat Glass Ema Ichikawa Edition
The Lomo’Instant Automat Glass Ema Ichikawa Edition uses Instax Mini films from Fujifilm, which were specially developed for this format.
The Instax Mini format, one of the smallest instant formats available, has image dimensions of 8.6 x 5.4 cm with an effective image area of 62 x 46 mm, comparable to the size of a business card.
The films are supplied in cassettes that are fully inserted into the camera. One pack usually contains 10 images. A film change is required when the frame counter reaches “0”. The average cost per image is around 70 cents.
After exposure, the camera outputs the image and the photo develops within a few minutes. The color films (Instax Mini Film*) impress with their image quality. The white edges of the pictures can be customized with pens and stickers.
The Instax Mini Monochrome* is available for black and white photography enthusiasts. In addition to the standard color films, there are also special editions with printed edges. The Instax Mini format is ideal for occasions such as parties or weddings.
