The Polaroid Hello Kitty is an instant camera. It is another Polaroid camera, like the Polaroid Barbie, which was aimed more at a female target group. The body is pink and pink. The front is adorned with the logo and head of the famous cat.
The range of functions and the shape of the housing are identical to the Polaroid One Step (rounded corners).
The Polaroid Hello Kitty is designed for the Polaroid 600 format. As is well known, Polaroid has discontinued the production of instant films.
No need to mothball the camera, suitable alternatives are available from The Impossible Project. These instant films have been sold under the original brand name again since 2020. For example the Polaroid Color Film for 600* or the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*.
The battery is permanently integrated in the film cassette. When the film is changed, the camera is supplied with a new power source. The battery supplies power to the camera and flash. An additional power source is not necessary.
Instructions for the Polaroid Hello Kitty
How to take photos with the instant camera? A clear guide to how the Polaroid camera works. The first step is to insert the film. To do this, slide the slider on the side forwards to open the film flap. Now the cassette with the film material can be inserted. Then the flap can be closed again. The protective film that has protected the film material from light until now is now automatically removed by the camera technology.
Now you can start taking pictures. Hold the camera on the subject and press the release button. The camera technology transports the image from the film cassette out of the camera and the development of the image starts. After a few minutes, the development is complete and you can view the image.
Alternatives
If one cannot find the camera, it is advisable to resort to other options. Here, for example, the Polaroid Spirit 600* and Polaroid OneStep Express* come to mind. These models offer comparable functions. They also use the 600 Polaroid format. There is also a possible alternative to the Polaroid cameras. A good start are the Diana Instant Square* and LomoInstant*. Suitable film material is also still being produced for both cameras.
Hello Kitty
Hello Kitty is a fictional character known all over the world, originally from Japan. She was designed by the Sanrio company in 1974 and presented for the first time on a wallet. The idea for Hello Kitty came from the desire to create a character that would appeal to both children and adults. The character, depicting a white cat with a red bow in her hair, quickly became very popular and developed into a cultural phenomenon. Hello Kitty was the first Sanrio character to achieve international success, and she remains a symbol of Japanese kawaii culture (cute aesthetics) and a popular merchandising product around the world.
