The Polaroid 600 Snoopy is a special edition instant camera. It was introduced by Retrospekt in November 2024.
The foundation of this camera is the original Polaroid One Step Flash. It underwent a thorough refurbishment and functional testing before being fitted with a new lens.
The appearance, as the name suggests, is characterized by Snoopy designs. This isn’t the first collaboration between Retrospekt and Snoopy.
Design aspects of the Polaroid 600 Snoopy
This camera is a Polaroid 600 instant camera, but has a white body with black accents. The viewfinder is also folded out.
The fold-out part features the word “SNOOPY” in large, red letters. The flash is located below. On the side of the lens is a stylized, black-and-white print of Snoopy, standing cheerfully with his arms raised. “Polaroid” is written vertically next to it in red lettering. Below the lens is the small slider with the plus and minus signs.
On the bottom front of the camera, “PEANUTS” is printed in red letters, accompanied by a dashed line and a small yellow bee on the right edge.
Functional Features of the Device
The device has a fixed focal length lens with no zoom or focus adjustment. Exposure settings are automatically adjusted by the built-in light meter, while a light/dark slider on the front allows for easy adjustments.
The limited setting options ensure ease of use and allow users to take photos independently after a brief introduction.
The built-in flash provides sufficient light for the shots and fires automatically. The power for the device and the flash comes from a battery inside the film cassette, which is replaced with each film change. No additional batteries are required for photography.
Film Materials for the Polaroid 600 Snoopy
No film is included with the instant camera; this must be purchased separately.
Suitable films for the Polaroid 600 Snoopy are still available, including both black and white and color films. The color film is sold under the name Polaroid Color Film for 600*. For monochrome images with the instant camera, the Polaroid B&W Film for 600* is required.
One film cassette contains eight images. Once used, users must insert a new cassette. Film is not included. The development time for the photos varies between 5 and 15 minutes depending on the film.
