The Polaroid 600 Glow-in-the-dark is a classic instant camera. The edition was designed and sold by the American company Retrospekt and Urban Outfitters.
The edition is based on the Polaroid One Step Flash. The used models were refurbished and tested for functionality. As the name suggests, the camera is supposed to glow. Parts of the body fluoresce in the dark. In the light, you see a camera with a partially transparent and white housing.
The camera is equipped with a fixed lens. It has no zoom function, and the focal length cannot be adjusted. There is also no way to adjust the focus. The internal light meter takes care of the exposure settings. The brightness slider on the front can be used to change the exposure a bit.
Of course, these limitations in configuration options add to the ease of use. This means that you can take photos with the camera yourself after a short introductory phase. Therefore, it is ideal for taking pictures at weddings, birthday parties or parties. It also cuts a fine figure on summer vacations.
The integrated flash provides plenty of light when taking photos with the instant camera. It triggers automatically. It can also be switched off by simply pressing the back of the shutter release. Indoors, you should be a little careful when not using the flash, as it needs a lot of light to take good pictures.
The camera and flash are powered by a battery inside the film cassette. So the battery is replaced every time you change the film. So you don’t need an extra battery to take pictures.
Films for the Polaroid 600 Glow-in-the-dark
The suitable films for the Polaroid 600 Glow-in-the-dark are offered again and freshly produced. So there is even a little choice. There are films for black and white and for color images that can be easily obtained online. The film for color pictures is the Polaroid Color Film for 600*. For black and white pictures with the instant camera you need the Polaroid B&W Film for 600*.
There are eight photos in one pack of the film. After the pictures are used up, a new film must be inserted. There is no film material included with the camera.
The development time after taking pictures is between five and fifteen minutes, depending on the instant film. Shaking the images will not speed up or shorten the development time. It is best to leave the image and wait only a short time.
