The Lomo’Instant Yangon is a special edition of the Lomo’Instant. The instant camera for the Instax format was introduced to the public in September of 2017.
The design of the instant camera is in gold. It is supposed to remind of the sunsets over the ancient city.
The Lomography camera is named after the largest city in Myanmar (also Burma or Burma). Yangon, also Rangoon / Rangoon, is home to over 5 million inhabitants and has the largest seaport in the Southeast Asian country.
The features of the Lomo’Instant Yangon are similar to those of the other editions. For example, there are interchangeable lenses for the instant camera (included right out of the box), it offers multiple exposure capability and a bulb mode, comes with a mirror for selfies, and has a built-in flash.
To take pictures with the Lomo’Instant Yangon, you will need Fujifilm’s Instax Mini instant films. They are not included and must be purchased separately.
The current color film for the Instax Mini format is the Instax Mini Film*. For black and white images, the Instax Mini Monochrome* is available for purchase. There are ten images in a cassette. Each image is about the size of a credit or business card. Depending on the edition, they are surrounded by a white frame. The frame can be written on and can also be decorated with stickers and the like.
Power is supplied to the camera and the built-in flash by four AAA batteries (eBay / Amazon*). Of course, the use of rechargeable AA batteries is possible.
Besides the Lomo’Instant Yangon, there are many other Special Editions of the instant camera, such as the Lomo’Instant Sanremo, Honolulu, Montenegro, Boston, Kyoto, Havana, Lake Tahoe, Marrakesh, Milano, Mumbai, Murano, Panama and Reykjavik.
