The Lomo’Instant Square Pemberley Edition is an instant camera from Lomography. It was presented by Lomography in January 2025. The edition has the same functions as the Lomo’Instant Square. “The Blues Edition” was presented at the same time.
Features of the instant camera
This camera has a built-in lens with a fixed focal length of 95 mm and a maximum aperture of f/10. To make it more portable, the camera is foldable.
There is no autofocus, instead the Lomo’Instant Square Pemberley Edition offers a manual focus with three levels, adjustable via a lever. Objects can be focused from a distance of 80 cm.
An integrated light meter that automatically controls the exposure ensures the correct exposure. While the shutter speed is fixed, the bulb mode allows a variable exposure time. Fine adjustments to the exposure can be made using a button on the back.
A built-in flash with a range of up to 9 meters at ISO 100 ensures sufficient lighting. The flash can be switched off. The Lomography instant camera also has a self-timer, radio trigger and a tripod thread.
Power is provided by two CR2 batteries (eBay / Amazon*). The remote control requires a CR2025 battery (eBay / Amazon*).
Film compatibility
According to the operating instructions, the Lomo’Instant Square Pemberley Edition uses Instax Square films. These have been available from Fujifilm since 2017 and are widely used.
The image size of the Instax Square Film* is 8.6 x 7.2 cm, the square image motif measures 6.2 x 6.2 cm. Each film cassette contains ten images.
The white frames of the instant photos can be written on and decorated with pens, making them perfect for occasions such as weddings, parties and birthdays.
The integrated motor ejects the image after it has been taken. Development begins immediately and the result is quickly visible. Shaking the image is unnecessary and not recommended.

FAQ about the Lomo'Instant Square Pemberley Edition
How close can I get to something and still take a clear picture with the Lomo'Instant Square Pemberley Edition?
With this camera, you can focus on objects that are at least 80 centimeters away. That's a little over two and a half feet. So, you can't get too close for clear shots, but it gives you a decent range to work with.
Does this instant camera take color photos, or are they always black and white?
The Lomo'Instant Square Pemberley Edition uses Instax Square film, which is available in both color and black and white. So, you can choose the type of film you want to use to get either color or black and white instant photos. The film will directly influence the result of your picture.
Does it need batteries? And if so, what kind does it use?
Yes, it needs batteries to work. The camera itself uses two CR2 batteries to operate. The remote control that comes with it uses a CR2025 battery. So you'll need to make sure you have those on hand to use all the features.
Can this Pemberley Edition take photos in the dark?
Yes, it has a built-in flash that can reach up to 9 meters, so you can definitely take pictures in darker environments. You can also turn the flash off if you prefer to use the available light. Additionally, it has a bulb mode for longer exposures.
I'm not very good at setting up cameras. Is it difficult to use this instant shooter?
The exposure is automatic so you don't have to worry about setting the shutter speed. However, it doesn't have autofocus. Instead, you have to manually choose one of three focusing distances using a lever. Once you understand how the lever works, it should be pretty straightforward!
