The Leica Instant Color Film is an instant film sold under the Leica brand, although the company is not the actual manufacturer. Production of the film is handled by Fujifilm. A pack is sold for 10 euros in Germany.
This instant film is designed for the Instax Mini format. The image size is similar to a credit card, with the actual image area measuring 62 x 46 mm. The rest of the space is taken up by the frame.
The film has a sensitivity of ISO 800, which makes it versatile for different lighting conditions, from bright sunlight to indoors with moderate lighting.
After the image is taken, the camera ejects the image and the instant photo begins to develop. Development usually takes around 90 seconds. Once the development time is complete, the finished photo can be viewed.
Film format
The instant film is compatible with Leica Sofort and Leica Sofort 2. In addition to Leica instant cameras, it can also be used with models such as the Lomography LomoInstant. Of course, you can also use Fujifilm’s Instax Mini cameras.
The use of Leica SOFORT color film in older Polaroid cameras is not recommended. A film cassette contains ten images.
Editions
The Leica Instant Color Film is available in two versions. A version with a frame in warm white and a version in Neo Gold.
Areas of application
The versatility of the Leica Instant Color Film opens up a wide range of areas of application. From spontaneous snapshots on trips and family celebrations to creative projects such as artistic self-portraits or experimental double exposures, the film offers numerous ways to capture memories and encourage artistic expression.
The film is also used in the professional sector, for example in event photography to give guests a unique souvenir on site, or in portrait photography to create a relaxed and interactive atmosphere.
The compact size of the images also makes them ideal for use in scrapbooking or for designing individual greeting cards.
