Features

Like most instant cameras, the Leica Sofort is easy to use. Making pictures is made easier with eight programs. You can choose from automatic, macro, long exposure, self-timer, party and people, sports and action, double exposure and selfie. However, it is also possible to set the distance, flash and exposure compensation yourself.

The focus can be set in three steps (0.3 – 0.6 m, 0.6 – 3 m, 3 m – infinity). For macro mode, there is a parallax compensation in the viewfinder. The built-in flash can be set to Auto, Enabled and Red-eye reduction. It can also be turned off completely. For group pictures, there is a self-timer with a lead time of 2 or 10 seconds.

The battery for the camera is included and can be recharged. Up to 100 pictures should be possible with one charge. The dimensions of the camera are 12.4 x 9.4 x 5.8 cm with a weight of 305 grams (without battery and film).

Variants

The Leica Sofort is available in black, white, mint and orange. There is also a special edition of the camera, the Leica Sofort Limoland. The front and back of this edition are adorned with “Mr Limo”, the logo of the LimoLand fashion label. Limoland was founded by photographer Jean Pigozzi and is characterized by its colorful patterns.

Films for the Leica Sofort

The Leica Sofort is designed for the instant format “Instax Mini”. Leica offers films for the camera under the “Leica Sofort” brand, but Fujifilm films can also be used. In both cases, the instant films come from Fujifilm’s production in Japan. The color film is the Instax Mini Film*.

It is the smallest instant format and half the size of the Instax Wide format. An Instax Mini image is 86 x 54 mm. The image surrounded by a frame is 62 x 46 mm. The color pictures are about the size of a credit card.

The individual pictures are in a special cassette. The black cassette is placed in the camera. One cassette contains 10 images. When the frame counter shows zero, the film must be changed. One picture costs about 70 cents, depending on the dealer.

After the exposure, the image comes out of the Leica Sofort. Within a very short time, the image is then developed. The image quality is impressive for an instant picture. If you want, you can decorate the white frame around the picture with pens and stickers.

The Instax Mini Monochrome* is a black and white film for the Instax Mini format. For weddings, scrapbooking and parties, the Instax Mini format is well suited.
