Technical features and functions
The Leica Sofort 2 uses the instant format (86 x 54 mm with an image size of 62 x 46 mm) and enables photos to be printed directly. At the same time, it stores the images digitally on a microSD card, making later editing, archiving and sharing easier.
The camera is equipped with the Leica Summar 1: 2 / 2.4, a lens that corresponds to a focal length of around 28 mm in 35mm format. It offers a versatile perspective that is suitable for a variety of shooting situations, from landscape shots to portraits and street scenes.
The Sofort 2 has a 1/5 inch CMOS sensor with an RGB color filter. This sensor captures images with a resolution of 2560 x 1920 pixels (4.9 MP), which ensures good image quality for both direct printing and digital use.
The camera offers a range of creative functions, including ten “Film Effects” (Normal, Vivid, Pale, Canvas, Monochrome, Sepia, Yellow, Red, Blue, Retro) and ten “Optical Effects” (Normal, Vignette, Soft Focus, Blur, Fisheye, Color Shift, Light Leak, Mirror, Double Exposure, Half Frame). These effects can be applied directly when taking the picture and allow you to customize the images.
The Leica Sofort 2 offers a program automatic that automatically adjusts the exposure and aperture to the respective lighting conditions. In addition, the photographer can manually correct the exposure by ±2 EV in 1/3 EV steps to specifically influence the brightness of the image. The ISO range goes from ISO 100 to ISO 1600 and is also controlled automatically.
The autofocus ensures quick and precise distance setting. The camera also has face detection, which automatically detects and focuses on faces in the image. An AF assist light supports autofocus in poor lighting conditions. Other functions include a self-timer, an integrated flash, various white balance settings and a macro function for close-ups.
The Leica Sofort 2 can be connected to the Leica FOTOS app via Bluetooth. This enables remote control of the camera, transfer of images to the smartphone or tablet and the installation of firmware updates.
The camera is characterized by a compact and robust design. The housing is made of plastic with a polycarbonate carrier layer and polymethyl methacrylate front and back plates. The Sofort 2 is available in white, red and black.

The Leica Sofort 2 uses the widely used Instax Mini film format, which was developed by Fujifilm. This means that a wide selection of films with different properties and frame colors is available.
