The Impossible Color Film for 600 is an instant film.
With it and the right camera, color pictures can be taken. The Impossible Project introduced it in the fall of 2013. It is currently the most current Impossible Color Film for 600 series and replaces the PX 680 Color Protection. As with all Impossible films, the name has been simplified and the package design has also been changed.
The Impossible Color Film for 600 is, as the name suggests, designed for Polaroid’s 600 series. In our list you can find the supported camera models. It can also be exposed in Polaroid SX-70 cameras, but this requires lowering the sensitivity, e.g. with an ND filter.
Using the instant film in Impossible’s Instant Lab is also possible. However, there is an adapted version for both models with the Impossible Color Film for SX-70 and for Impossible Cameras.
The finished image has a size of 8.8 x 10.7 cm. Of this, the actual (square) image takes up an area of 7.9 by 7.9 cm. The rest is the characteristic white frame, as known from the old Polaroids. However, there are also editions of the instant film with colorful, gold and silver frames.
One box of Impossible Color Film for 600 is enough for eight pictures. You should keep this in mind when looking at the frame counter on the camera. If there is a “2” in the window, then the film needs to be changed and not at “0”.
The ejected image should be protected after ejection; in low light, for example indoors, you can do without it.
The film cassette of the Impossible Color Film for 600 contains a battery, which supplies the Polaroid 600 camera with power. It is best to store unexposed film in the refrigerator and to process it within 12 months of the production date.
Besides the color film, there is also a black and white film from Impossible for 600 cameras.
