Hanalogital Spirals color negative film is marketed under the German brand Hanalogital. This is a special effects film originally produced by a film manufacturer as regular color film and subsequently modified by Hanalogital.
The effects that occur during photography vary and can be influenced by exposure settings or the camera used. Therefore, each photograph is partially unpredictable. In this film, the effects are luminous spirals that appear in the images.
Developing the film
To develop the film stock after exposure, the C-41 process is used for this film. Unlike black and white film development, the development process for color film is standardized. After development, you get the film strips with the photographed images.
For film development, you can drop off the Hanalogital Spirals at vendors such as Rossmann or DM-Markt.
Afterwards, you can either make prints from the negatives or digitize them for digital purposes. Many developing labs directly offer the service of making prints in different sizes.
Digitizing the negatives
To digitize the Hanalogital Spiral negatives, you can scan them with a scanner. There are a variety of devices for digitizing negatives, which differ in features and quality and are suitable for any budget. After digitizing, one can edit the photos using Photoshop and share them on social media platforms.
Formats
The Spirals is available exclusively in 35mm film format. One roll of film can take 36 shots. A medium format version is not available.
There are many suitable cameras for this format from different manufacturers. A good combination with this film would be a Lomography camera, for example, but interesting shots can also be achieved with an SLR camera.
