Hanalogital FOX

The Hanalogital FOX is a color negative film. It is sold under the “Hanalogital” brand. Hanalogital is a supplier from Germany.

The FOX is designed for color images. More precisely, it is film material from a major manufacturer that is reversed by Hanalogital. This results in a so-called redscale film. As the name suggests, the images are dipped in red tones. Normally this is an ISO 200 film, but if you expose it more, the images will have slightly different color variations. A range between ISO 50 and ISO 200 is recommended.

Development of the film

The film is developed in the C-41 process. The development of color negative film is offered by most photo labs in Germany. The C-41 process is a standardized development process. It is carried out by the vast majority of photo labs.

To prevent scratches on the emulsion of the film, which can occur during development in an external photo lab, the film should be turned over before delivery. This process, of course, must take place in complete darkness.

Another problem that can occur when developing Redscale films in photo labs relates to the photo prints. For these, most labs apply image correction to get the ideal results. This can lead to the opposite with Redscale photos and the prints will give a wrong image.

However, there is no need to worry about this. The image correction only applies to the prints and not to the negatives. You can simply scan the negatives yourself and then make new prints. Another option is to ask the lab directly to turn off image correction.

Formats

You can buy the FOX only for 35mm cameras. The number of images is specified as 36. You can use it in all normal 35mm cameras. There is no medium format version.
