The Canon EOS Kiss 7 requires 35mm film according to the operating instructions. 35mm films are still produced and are developed without problems in most photo labs. A good choice of film is Kodak Portra 160* for color and Ilford Delta 100* for black and white images. The area of the negatives of the Canon EOS Kiss 7 are 24 mm x 36 mm.

The SLR comes with an automatic prewind system. After loading the film and closing the rear door, the film automatically winds itself onto a spool at the end of the roll. During shooting, the film is rewound back into the cartridge. This way no image is destroyed if the rear door is opened unintentionally.
