The Canon EOS 3000N is a single lens reflex camera. The 35mm camera is a product of Canon. It is the successor of the Canon EOS 3000.
The EOS 3000N is a very light and quiet camera and is aimed at the amateur photographer. It was designed by the Japanese company mainly for the markets in Eastern Europe and Asia. In Japan it was not sold regularly.
The 35mm camera was also available on the North American market under the name “Canon EOS Rebel XS N”. A model with a data back was also available.
The lenses of the Canon EOS 3000N can be changed. This is made possible by the EF bayonet. Focusing is made easier by a built-in autofocus.
The camera has a built-in light meter. It is designed for an ISO range from 6 to 6400. The film speed is determined by the DX code. In this mode, films from ISO 25 to ISO 5000 are supported.
In the SLR camera, the exposure is measured through the lens. It has several exposure modes. Both the desired exposure time and the f-number can be set by the user.
The 35mm camera comes with shutter speeds from 1/2000 second up to 30 seconds and a bulb setting option. The shutter can remain open for a variable time. A tripod thread and self-timer are also available.
The built-in flash provides sufficient light. The EOS 3000N’s flash has a range of up to 12 metres at a film speed of ISO 100. A hot-shoe flash can also be connected. The fastest shutter speed for flash photography is 1/90 second.
The dimensions of the Canon EOS 3000N are 14.5 x 9.2 x 6.1 cm in the manual. It weighs 350 grams. The required power for the camera comes from two CR123A batteries (eBay / Amazon*).
Films for the Canon EOS 3000N
Without 35mm film nothing works with the Canon EOS 3000N. 35mm films are still produced today and are quite easy to get. One possibility for artistic black and white pictures is AgfaPhoto APX 100*, and a possible film for color outdoor shots is Fujifilm Superia 400*.
The development process for color film is the C-41 process. This development process is offered by most laboratories.
The exposure area of the Canon EOS 3000N is 24 mm x 36 mm. The film transport is automatic. After each release, the camera rewinds to the next frame. In doing so it rewinds the film material directly back into the cartridge. With this method, the captured images cannot be lost if the back cover is opened unintentionally.
