Canon EOS 10

The Canon EOS 10 is a 35mm camera. It belongs to the group of SLR cameras and was introduced in the 90s. In America it was sold under the name EOS S. In Japan the model was available as EOS 10 QD with a data back.

The Canon EOS 10 comes with interchangeable lenses. It comes with an EF bayonet. In most cases it was sold with the Canon EF 35-135mm f/4-5.6 USM. Focusing is made easier by a built-in autofocus.

Photography is made easier by the built-in light meter. This is designed for an ISO range from 6 to 6400. The DX code on the film cartridge can be read by the camera.

With the 35mm SLR, exposure is measured through the lens (TTL). The exposure settings are determined automatically by the camera (program, time and aperture priority). Both the desired aperture and the shutter speed can be set by the user.

The 35 mm camera comes with a bulb setting option. The Canon EOS 10 comes with a built-in flash. This has a range of up to 12 meters at an ISO value of 100.

The dimensions of the 35 mm camera are 15.8 x 10.6 x 7 cm. It weighs 625 grams. A 6V 2CR5 battery (eBay / Amazon*) provides the power supply. The operating instructions of the Canon EOS 10 indicate the capacity of the battery with 60 24-frame rolls. If the flash is used in 50 percent of cases, the yield is halved.

Films for the Canon EOS 10

The Canon EOS 10 takes its pictures on 35mm film. For this film format there is still a good selection of material for color and black and white images. A good choice of film is Kodak Gold 200* for color pictures and Ilford FP4 Plus* for black and white pictures.

The color film is processed in the C-41 process. This is offered by almost every photo lab.

The Canon EOS 10 exposes an area of 24 mm x 36 mm. The film is automatically transported by a motor. This way it achieves up to five frames per second. When the end is reached, it is wound back into the cartridge.
