The Nikon F Photomic Tn is a single lens reflex camera. It dates back to the 1960s. The difference to the original Nikon F is the viewfinder with built-in light meter.
The lenses of the 35mm photo camera can be changed. This is made possible by the Nikon F bayonet. The Nikkor Auto 50 mm f/1.4 is often found with the 35mm camera. The bayonet was first introduced in the 1950s. Since then, the lens bayonet has been reworked again and again.
Lenses are not only made by Nikon itself. Caution is advised, however, as not all lenses can be used with all cameras. You have to focus the lens manually on the desired subject.
The Nikon F Photomic Tn has a built-in light meter in the viewfinder. It can be used with films from ISO 6 to ISO 6400. With SLR cameras, the exposure is measured through the lens. Both the desired exposure time and the aperture value can be set by the user. The measuring results are not automatically transferred to the camera.
The 35mm camera has a bulb mode. With the Bulb setting, it stays open as long as the photographer holds the shutter button down. An external flash unit can be connected to the PC flash socket. The 35mm camera has a thread for a tripod. In addition, there is a connector for a cable release and a self-timer.
The Nikon F Photomic Tn has a weight of 855 grams. The power supply comes from two 1,3V mercury batteries.
Films for the Nikon F Photomic Tn
Without 35mm films, the Nikon F Photomic Tn does not work. For this film format, there is still a good selection of material for color and black and white images. Possible films for the photo camera are the Kodak Ultramax 400* for color pictures and the AgfaPhoto APX 100* for black and white photos.
The colour film is a colour negative film and must be developed in the C-41 process. This development process is available at almost every photo lab.
The exposure area of the Nikon F Photomic Tn has a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. For the next frame, the photographer has manually wind the camera.
The model is no longer produced. Depending on the state of the camera, the price for a used copy vary.
