The Nikkormat FT2 is a single lens reflex camera. It was manufactured between 1975 and 1977. The model is very similar to the Nikkormat FT.
The lenses of the Nikkormat FT2 can be exchanged. Lenses with a Nikon F lens mount can be used. This lens mount was first introduced in 1959. Some time later an autofocus function was added. Lenses are not just made by Nikon itself but also other brands. Even though the bayonet has not changed too much, not all modern camera lenses can be used with the old models. You have to focus the lens manually.
The 35mm film camera has an exposure meter. It is designed for films in an ISO range of 12 to 1600. The correct exposure is measured through the lens of the SLR camera. The aperture and shutter speed can be freely set by the photographer.
The 35mm camera has a bulb mode. The use of an external flash unit is possible via the PC flash socket. The Nikkormat FT2 comes with a self-timer. There is also a connector for a cable release and a thread for a tripod.
The camera with aluminium housing weighs 880 grams and the dimensions are 14,8 x 9,5 x 5,4 cm. The power supply for the 35mm camera is provided by one 1,5V LR44 battery (eBay / Amazon*).
