The Canon EOS IX is an SLR camera for the APS format. The APS camera was introduced by Canon in 1996 and was a flagship model among the cameras for this format at that time. It is considered one of the cornerstones for the later digital cameras of the Japanese company.
In Japan, the model was sold under the name "EOS IX E". This comes with the eye-controlled autofocus.
The lenses of the Canon EOS IX are interchangeable. Therefore an EF bayonet was built into the camera. The camera is equipped with an autofocus. The best-selling kit lens it came with includes the EF 22-55mm f/4.5-5.6 USM and the EF 55-200mm f/4.5-5.6 USM.
