The Canon EOS 700 is a 35mm camera. It was introduced in March 1990. In Japan the model was available as EOS QD with data back. The original price for the housing was 58.000 Yen.

A unique function is the reversible program wheel. The other side of the dial has shutter priority modes with the shutter speeds bulb and 1/4 s to 1/2000 s. Both sides have battery control, self-timer, (L) lock and (P) program.
A bulb mode is available for long exposures. In this mode, the shutter is released as long as the shutter-release button is pressed. The camera has a built-in flash. The range of the flash is 12 meters. An external flash can be fired via the built-in hot shoe. The Canon EOS 700 has a thread for a tripod and a self-timer.
The dimensions of the Canon EOS 700 are 14.9 x 10.2 x 7.1 cm. According to the manual it weighs 615 grams. The power source of the 35mm camera is a 6V 2CR5 battery (eBay / Amazon*), which is sufficient for 65 rolls with 24 pictures each. When using the flash, this number drops to 13.
Films for the Canon EOS 700
What film format is the Canon EOS 700 designed for? The camera needs films for the 35mm format. The 35mm format is the most common film format. Therefore some manufacturers still produce for this format. A good choice of film is Kodak Portra 160* for color pictures and Kodak TRI-X 400* for black and white pictures.
The color film is designed for development in the C-41 process. This is offered by almost every photo lab. For example, you can give your films to most drugstores for development.
The negatives of the Canon EOS 700 have a size of 24 mm x 36 mm. With this exposure range, a film (135-36) can usually hold at least 36 photos. The film is transported automatically.
