BKIFI Grid Film

The BKIFI Grid Film is a color negative film marketed by “Brooklyn Instant Film Initiative”, an American supplier, under the brand name “BKIFI”. The material is produced by a separate company.

With BKIFI Grid Film, stories and moments become stunning color images, thanks to its specified film speed of ISO 400 in the datasheet. This sensitivity is perfect for snapshots in most situations.

Pre-exposed with a grid, the photo film is a special feature as a so-called effect film. This grid then appears in the later images.

Development of the film

After shooting, the full film is developed in the C-41 process. In Germany, most laboratories offer development with C-41 chemistry. The standardized C-41 color negative process is completed to obtain the captured images as filmstrips.

There are various devices available to digitize negatives, with varying features and quality, suitable for any budget. The digitized photos can then be shared either physically or on social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and others.

Formats

BKIFI Grid Film is available exclusively for 35mm cameras and holds 36 shots on a roll of film. A variety of cameras are suitable for 35mm format, including those from well-known manufacturers such as Olympus, Revue, Nikon and Minolta.

Storage

To store analog film stock, it is recommended to choose a room with a stable temperature and low humidity. Avoid storage locations that are subject to high humidity or wide variations in temperature, as this may cause mold growth or damage to the material. Exposed films should be developed as soon as possible to maintain quality.
