The Agfa Agfacolor XRS 1000 is a colour negative film. It is part of the Agfacolor XRS film family and is aimed at professional photographers. Other members of the family were the XRS 100, 200 and 400.
The Agfacolor XRS 1000 can be used to take colour pictures. According to the manufacturer, the sensitivity is ISO 1000, which makes it one of the most light-sensitive films and allows you to take pictures in low light. The images are grainy compared to images on low-sensitivity material.
Development of the film
After the film has been exposed, it must be developed. For this purpose it must be processed in C-41 photochemistry. The development of colour negative films is offered by most photo labs. After development, the film strips can be digitized with a suitable scanner.
Availability and Alternatives
The Agfa Agfacolor XRS 1000 was available as 35mm and medium format film. The medium format film can be used in all 120 cameras. The 35 mm film was sold in versions with 24 and 36 frames. The cartridge carries a DX code.
The Agfa Agfacolor XRS 1000 is no longer produced. A replacement for the 35mm film is the Kodak Portra 800*.
