Petri

Kuribayashi Seisakusho(栗林製作所) was founded by Kuribayashi Yōji in Japan in the 1900s. In 1919, the Speed Reflex, the first camera was introduced. However, there are different specifications for the two years. A catalog from 1981 says that the company was founded in 1918 and that the first camera was released in 1922. In 1962, the company was renamed Petri Camera K.K. (ペトリカメラ㈱).

In the late 1970s, the company went out of business. After that, some cameras were still sold under the brand name, but produced by a different manufacturer.
