Petri GX-4

The Petri GX-4 is a reflex camera. The SLR camera was sold by Petri. It was built by Cosina and also offered by the Japanese company under the name “Cosina CT-7”.

The Petri GX-4 offers the possibility of interchangeable lenses. Lenses with a Pentax K bayonet can be used with the camera. The 35 mm camera does not have an autofocus function.

The Petri GX-4 has a built-in light meter. The exposure meter is designed for films with a speed of ISO 25 to ISO 1600. The exposure is measured by the lens.

The camera supports exposure times up to 1/1000 second. In Aperture preselect mode, the aperture can be selected by the photographer and the camera selects the appropriate shutter speed. The desired shutter speed can also be determined manually. The 35 mm camera comes with a Bulb setting option. In addition to a PC flash connection, the Petri GX-4 can be used with hot shoe flashes.

Films for the Petri GX-4

What films do you need for the Petri GX-4? It need 35mm film. Films of this format are still easy to get today and are still being developed. One option for b/w images is the Ilford Delta 400*. A possible film for color pictures is the Kodak Portra 400*.

The color film is being developed in the C-41 process. This development process is available at almost every photo lab.

The 35mm camera has a thread for a tripod. In addition, there is a connector for a cable release and a self-timer. The power supply comes from two LR44 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).

The 35mm camera can nowadays only be bought in used condition. The prices for the camera vary depending on the condition.
