The Petri MF-101A is a reflex camera. It is the successor to the Petri MF-101, which has been modified to display exposure in the viewfinder of the camera. Under the name “Cosina CT-1A” the 35mm camera, built by Cosina, was also sold.
The lenses of the Petri MF-101A can be changed. This is made possible by the Pentax K bayonet. The focus of the lens must be adjusted manually. There is no autofocus system.
Photography is facilitated by the built-in exposure meter. It is designed for an ISO range from 25 to 1600. The SLR camera determines the correct exposure when measured through the lens (TTL). The desired exposure time can be determined manually. The aperture is also freely selectable.
The camera comes with a bulb mode. With the PC flash port and the hot shoe it is possible to use a flash.
Films for the Petri MF-101A
The Petri MF-101A uses 35mm film. For this film format, there is still a good selection of material for color and black and white images. A 35mm film for color pictures is the Kodak Portra 160*. A possible black and white film is the Ilford XP2 Super*.
The Petri MF-101A comes with a self-timer. There is also a connector for a cable release and a thread for a tripod. The camera needs two LR44 batteries (eBay / Amazon*).
The 35 mm camera is only available in used condition. The used price of a copy of the 35mm camera depends on condition and functionality.
